Co-participation is a vital element of a Support Workers role, participation in recreation/leisure activities can range from assisting people to exercise and or, physical assistance for people’s mobility. You will also be working closely with people and their families in achieving set outcomes and goals.

Support work can be both physically and mentally demanding. Staff may be required to perform physical activities such as pushing a Service User in a wheelchair, lifting a wheelchair into a vehicle, supporting a Service User’s weight when standing, walking, or transferring from a wheelchair to a vehicle, using manual or electric hoists to move Service Users.

As Lifestyle Connections has a duty of care to both the Service User and Support Staff, please disclose any known conditions or preexisting injuries that would impede your ability to complete any of the tasks listed above.
